I’ve been looking for a new regular Barber for the best part of a year. The Barber I’ve used the last few times hasn’t been that great so I spontaneously popped in to Dapranos. Drew was able to squeeze me in at short notice and I have to say it’s the best haircut I’ve had in a while. Drew was friendly, helpful and very thorough to make sure my hair was cut just how I like it. It’s fair to say I’ve found my new regular Barbers and the fact I can book an appointment in advance works better for me.

Giovanni

With 24 years of experience in the men’s hairdressing industry, including an incredible 20 years here at Dapranos, I’ve built my career around creating great hair and making sure every client leaves feeling their best. My real passion lies in short to medium-length styles, where I love combining precision, creativity and attention to detail to get the very best out of every client’s hair. Even after all these years, I’m still passionate about learning. I enjoy developing new skills, keeping up with the latest trends and continually challenging myself to improve. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so getting the details right is something that really matters to me. For me, the biggest compliment is seeing clients return time and time again. I pride myself on consistency, trust and always making sure I get the maximum potential out of every head of hair. 24 years in the industry — and I’m still loving every minute of it!

With 11 years of experience in men’s hairdressing, I’ve been lucky enough to build my skills and develop my craft by working alongside some of the very best barbers in the bay. For me, barbering is all about the details. I take the time to listen to what each client wants and then put my own precision and creativity into making sure they leave with a cut they can feel confident in. I’m particularly passionate about pushing the boundaries when it comes to fades, clean finishes and ultra-sharp cutthroat-bladed outlines. I love the challenge of creating those crisp, precise details that can take a great haircut to the next level. I’m always looking to evolve, improve and keep pushing my barbering to the next level — because when it comes to a great haircut, it’s the finer details that make all the difference.

Prew

With over 40 years of experience in the hairdressing industry, I’ve had the privilege of building a career that has taken me from Torquay to London and back again. I began my hairdressing journey in Torquay in 1983 before moving to London a few years later, where I went on to run a successful salon for many years. After gaining a wealth of experience and working with all different types of hair and styles, I made the decision 12 years ago to return to Torquay and specialise in barbering. I enjoy every aspect of barbering, but I believe my extensive background in traditional hairdressing gives me a real advantage — particularly when it comes to longer styles, blending and precision scissor work. For me, great barbering is about combining experience, technique and attention to detail to create a style that works perfectly for each individual client. After more than four decades in the industry, I’m still passionate about what I do — and I’m always proud to put that experience into every haircut.

Ode

With over 10 years of experience in the hairdressing industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work in some of the very best hairdressers and barbershops across Torquay, constantly learning, developing and refining my craft. I’m passionate about working to the highest possible standards and I’m always pushing myself to improve my skills and take my work to the next level. Precision is a huge part of my approach — I love focusing on the finer details that can transform a good haircut into a great one. For me, every client deserves a haircut that feels individual and stands out from the crowd. Whether it’s the shape, finish or those all-important finishing touches, I take pride in making sure every detail is just right. I’m always striving to deliver a haircut that not only looks sharp when you leave the chair, but continues to look and feel great long after.

James

With 5 years of experience in the men’s hairdressing industry, I’ve quickly developed a real passion for modern barbering, particularly sharp fades and contemporary styles. While fades and modern cuts are my favourite areas, I’m confident across all aspects of cutting and always enjoy the challenge of creating a style that suits each individual client. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to develop my skills and gain valuable hands-on experience as part of the Dapranos team. I’ve built up a loyal client base and am now proud to be a full-time member of the team. Working alongside experienced barbers has given me a wealth of knowledge and helped me grow in confidence as a barber. I’m always looking to learn, improve and push my skills further, and I’m excited to see where the next stage of my career takes me.

Sarah

Born and raised in Torquay, I started my barbering career here over 20 years ago, where I first met Giovanni while we were training together. I later moved to London for university and spent 14 years building my experience across some of the city’s most respected barbershops, including Jack’s of London and a number of exclusive establishments. Along the way, I had the pleasure of cutting hair for a wide range of clients, from professional sportspeople and TV presenters to CEOs, doctors, pilots and everyone in between. I’m confident working with all hair types, from European and Asian to Afro hair, and I enjoy cutting everyone from toddlers to OAPs. For me, it’s all about attention to detail, keeping up with modern styles and making sure every client leaves with a finish they’re genuinely happy with. In 2023, I made the move back to Torquay, returning to the seaside life I’d missed after 14 years in London. I’m excited to bring my experience back home, become part of the Dapranos team and, most importantly, meet you!

Jordan

Hi, I’m Jordan — the youngest and newest member of the team! With over 4 years of barbering experience and recently qualified, I may be one of the younger members of the team, but I’m certainly not short on passion, ambition or skill. I pride myself on delivering sharp, precise cuts and a first-class experience for every client who sits in my chair. I enjoy all aspects of barbering, from classic and traditional cuts to longer styles, but my real passion is modern looks — especially fades, burst fades and tapers. I particularly love working with longer hair too, where I can get creative with shape, texture and movement. I’m always looking to improve, learn and push my skills further. With my client base growing quickly, I’m excited to keep building my reputation and show exactly what I can do. I’ve been barbering for 30 years now, with 16 of those years proudly spent here at Dapranos. Three decades behind the chair has given me a wealth of experience, and I’ve had the chance to work with just about every style, hair type and client you can imagine. I’m passionate about creating new styles and i always take pride in getting the finer details just right. One of the best parts of the job is the people. Over the years, I’ve built some great relationships with my clients, many of whom have been coming back to me for years. For me, that loyalty says more than anything. Even after 30 years, I still enjoy the craft and love seeing a client leave the chair looking and feeling their best. 30 years of barbering, 16 years at Dapranos — and I’m still loving it! ✂️
